The Beatrice Community Hospital Foundation's Transfer Bag Program is intended to help ease the stress during these unexpected moments by providing a bag filled with essential items and thoughtful comforts for patients and their loved ones.
What is a Transfer Bag?
A Transfer Bag is given to patients and families who are unexpectedly transferred to another healthcare facility for specialized treatment. Whether the transfer involves an infant, child, or adult, these bags provide practical items that can make a difficult situation just a little easier.
Each bag may include items such as:
- Travel-sized toiletries
- Tissues
- Snacks
- Bottled water
- Phone charger
- Stuffed animal or comfort item
- Information and directions for the receiving healthcare facility
- Gift Cards to help offset travel expenses
Contents may vary based on availability and the patient's needs.
Why it Matters
A hospital transfer often happens with little warning. Families may leave home without time to pack essentials or prepare for an extended stay away from home.
The Transfer Bag Program helps by:

Financial Contributions:
- Monetary donations can be made to the BCH Foundation to purchase needed supplies, replenish inventory, and respond to changing patient needs throughout the year
