At the Beatrice Community Hospital Foundation, we recognize that community health and wellness extend beyond the walls of Beatrice Community Hospital. In partnership with our generous donors, we award annual grants to nonprofits within Gage County, supporting initiatives through the many valuable organizations that contribute to the well-being of our communities in Gage County. In 2024, we awarded $73,660 in grant funding to 11 local organizations. These funds helped support projects such as a non-emergency medical transport van for Blue Rivers Area Agency on Aging, an in-floor wheelchair scale for Good Samaritan Society, a wish for a Gage County child through Make-A-Wish, and car seats and a blood pressure kiosk for the Beatrice YMCA, to name a few. Grant applications will open in May 2025 for Gage County nonprofits seeking funding to support their heath-related projects.
We believe in the power of community engagement and improvement. The BCH Foundation is proud to support health initiatives and collaborate with numerous local organizations throughout the year. Our partnerships go beyond grantmaking; we also facilitate a program called Community Connections, which brings together local agencies to discuss and address health-related topics in Gage County. The goal of this initiative is to foster collaboration, expand conversations, and work toward advancing community health in our region.
In addition to grant award and Community Connections, we are actively involved in various community efforts. Our engagement includes bringing Gage County first graders to Beatrice Community Hospital to show them the ways of the hospital, collaborating with the Gage County Foundation to ensure the success of the Big Give Gage event, hosting Red Cross Blood Drives, participating in Leadership Beatrice, and much more. We are always looking for new opportunities to expand our community involvement and would love to hear from you. If you have an engagement opportunity, please contact us at foundation@bchhc.org.
Together we can build a healthier, stronger community.
