Mission & History

Mission Statement

The mission of the Beatrice Community Hospital Foundation, Inc., is to encourage and inspire charitable giving that will enhance patient-and-family-centered healthcare services provided by the Beatrice Community Hospital & Health Center and its associated entities.

History

1954 : The BCH Foundation was initially incorporated as the Mennonite Hospital Foundation.

1958: The Articles of Incorporation were filed in July of 1958. The organizers were J.S. Elliott, Dr. J.G. Krim, L.H. Esau, Marion Morton, and Hale McCrown. The original Articles of Incorporation established a Board of Directors who would serve 5-year terms.

1978: The Articles of Incorporation were amended to qualify the Foundation as a nonprofit organization under Section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

1984:  The Hospital's name was changed from the Mennonite Deaconess Home and Hospital to Beatrice Community and Health Center, Inc. As a result, the Articles of Incorporation were amended and the Foundation's name was changed to Beatrice Community Hospital Foundation, Inc.

1985: Health System of Beatrice, Inc. was created. The Foundation's Articles of Incorporation were again amended, revised, and restated.
