The Beatrice Community Hospital (BCH) and Beatrice Fire and Rescue are vital to our community's safety and well-being. This year, we are excited to launch a project to elevate our cardiac care capabilities through the latest advancements in EKG technology.

Our Goal

We aim to upgrade our cardiac care tools by investing in four new EKG machines and implementing a cutting-edge digital platform. This transition from paper-based records to digital will streamline our clinical workflows and improve patient care.

With your support during Big Give Gage, we will achieve the following:

• Acquire 4 New EKG Machines: Enhance our diagnostic capabilities with state-of-the-art equipment.
• Implement Digital EKG Records: Move from paper-based to digital, ensuring rapid and efficient access to patient information.
• Enhance Coordination: Improve integration with Beatrice Fire and Rescue to provide real-time patient data to our onsite doctors before patient arrival.

These advancements will not only eliminate redundant procedures but also ensure timely and precise care. By having critical patient information before they even arrive at the hospital, our doctors can prepare and develop treatment plans, leading to better patient outcomes.

A Heartfelt Story of Recovery

Meet a retiree in his mid-60s whose life was transformed by our dedicated teams:

For over 15 years, he managed his high blood pressure with medication and enjoyed tending to his garden. However, in May 2024, while working outside, he experienced severe sweating, chest pain, and drooping lips. His spouse insisted on visiting BCH’s Emergency Department.

At BCH, an EKG revealed he was having a massive heart attack. Quick action by Beatrice Fire and Rescue ensured he was swiftly transferred to a Lincoln hospital for surgery. Thanks to the BCH cardiac rehab team, he received exceptional care and support throughout his recovery. Today, he is committed to a healthier lifestyle, and his recent tests show significant improvement.
