The Beatrice Community Hospital Foundation Partner Program is awarding over $5,000 in mini-healthcare grants for internal hospital projects.
The 2021 Partner mini-healthcare grants were awarded with the intent of using donor dollars to support Hospital departments. “Grant funding will be provided for innovative ideas, new and unique technologies and programs, pilot programs, unexpected and unanticipated opportunities, including unbudgeted items”, Foundation Partner Program Coordinator, Lindsey McKeever, said.
Partner mini-healthcare grants are made possible through donations to the Centurian Endowment Fund. This fund was created in 2016, aimed at addressing current healthcare needs in our area, as well as preserving and providing quality healthcare services for future generations. By giving to the Centurian Fund Endowment you become a BCH Foundation Partner and get to be a part of the decision making body that decides how grant funds are allocated. The BCH Foundation Partners selected two grants to be awarded.
BCH Technology Services was granted $4,260 for iPads to be used in the Acute Care setting for patient use during their stay and for educational uses amongst several departments. “These iPads will allow patients to communicate with family members during their hospital stay as well as keep them comfortable while they’re at BCH.” Morgan Cordry, Technology Services team members, said. The grant funds will also be used by the Labor & Delivery Department for educational purposes.
BCH Labor & Delivery Department was granted $1,500 for nursery-themed patient information boards unique to the labor & delivery environment. “We currently have patient information boards that are more suited for surgery patients then for expecting mothers.” Jill Allen, Director of Labor & Delivery, said. “We will be able to note on these new boards when the last time baby ate, when they were changed, their sleeping patterns, and more.”
